The Who: Albums Ranked

Happy Birthday Keith Moon (RIP). Here’s our ranking of The Who albums from way back in 2020.

The Who.

No, this isn’t an Abbott and Costello routine, this is The Who. The band who formed in London in 1964 and went on to release 12 albums and become one of the most influential rock acts of all time.

Legendary songwriter Pete Townshend, golden voiced (and golden mained) Roger Daltrey, “The Ox” John Entwistle and one of the most heralded drummers ever in Keith Moon. The band exploded to prominence in 1964 with a slew of singles and the album My Generation–maximum R&B–before going on to create one of the first concept albums in The Who Sell Out, one of the first rock operas in Tommy and just damn fine rock and roll in Who’s Next and Quadrophenia. After the death of Moon in 1978, the band kept going, releasing Face Dances and It’s Hard with Kenny Jones on Drums before taking an extended break. The band, now just Daltrey and Townshend, came back with Endless Wire in 2006 and Who in 2019.

Kramzer and Joe are The Who lovers, with multiple nominations in their albums of the year series. Jason is a notorious The Who hater. Will he come around and see the light? Or is he doomed to be deaf, dumb and blind to the band’s prodigious talents.

Watch and find out!
