Born to Run, Wish You Were Here, Blood on the Tracks, Physical Graffiti, Toys in the Attic, A Night at the Opera, two number one albums from Sir Elton. Say no more, 1975!

The year is 1975 and we’re picking our favorite songs of the year.

It’s a simple concept. We pick five of our favorite songs that made the Billboard Top 100 (established in 1958) during any time that year. We also select five “wildcards” that can be any songs released as a single or on an album or EP that year. Finally, we also pick our “worst” song of the year, just for fun.

We started in 1958 and we’re going until we run out of years.

One of the great years in music history, 1975 brought out some of the best from artists like Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Elton John x2, Aerosmith, Deep Purple, The Boss, Patti Smith, Queen, Eagles, David Bowie, Neil Young, Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell, Black Sabbath and so much more. It was loaded like maybe no other year in history.

It’s all downhill from here, folks. Hope you enjoyed it!

Standings So Far

Joe’s pick of No Other by Gene Clark was the winner in a battle of deep cuts for 1974. Just a half point behind Jason, will 1975 propel him to the top? Will Kramzer ever win again? Will Jason keep picking deep cuts? The answer to all of these is yes.

Jason: 8.5
Joe: 8
Kramzer: 4.5
